I pledge allegiance to no nation Not to this flag Nor the 50 states it claims To hold together I am from that place Where the sky meets the Earth No man's land Simply put I am DIRTY Ash and mineral Each particle Peaced together I am the grain And the mountain Towering Babbling All the way home Ase Aho Hola Aloha Hello Simply I say hello With no nation to hold me And no flag to mold me Island on Black Moored to exile And the shifting port Of understanding I do not believe in these borders I do not believe in unjust law I do not believe in this government Life grabs me by the heart Demanding my attention Inviting me to once again Feel this connection Like little girl again Make world pretty again Set to forgetting the hate That penetrates deeper Than a John Searching the streets For fallen stars... Who am I? Who are you to be asking? Careful of the answers That allude to illusion Island on a version of me That reflects life No matter my status Or if my papers are in order No romanticzing insane If you let go And love does not Greet you in your soul You might not have Really let go Consider the position Of a world in extradition Called home to Mother & Father To explain itself Pull a habeus corpus On your heart Call the body of you home Hold trial And ask each ventricle Who have you been serving? Whose will reigns inside of you? Because no nation can hold you No flag can mold you And in the end No color could define you Be still and listen Whisper me Inhale and exhale me Until the breathing is enough Mirror the mirage and Envision A beautiful scene Of thirst quenched And sorrows soothed We demand for the people Equal access to inspiration A fluidity of motion That cultivates the will To dance We demand for the people Food for stomach and thought What is of the hand Will be done Rest & Rise To regenerate Shift into the shape of life And slip across The border of knowing Into an audible silence Journey into the undone space of you Reflect & refract Be With me In the rounded edge Of this Love
